About These Terms

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of Dictation Trainer (the "Service") at dictationtrainer.com, operated by Lucky Code Studio, a registered individual business in the Republic of Korea (Business Registration No. 636-59-00277), located at 76 Keunumul-ro, Mapo-gu, Seoul, Republic of Korea. By using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

Who Can Use the Service

You must be at least 14 years old (or the minimum age of digital consent in your jurisdiction) and able to form a binding contract. If you use the Service on behalf of an organization, you represent that you are authorized to accept these Terms on its behalf.

Your Account

You are responsible for keeping your account credentials secure and for all activity under your account. Keep your account information accurate, and notify us promptly of any unauthorized use.

What the Service Does

Dictation Trainer is an English dictation-practice product: you listen to audio sentences, type what you hear, and receive word-level scoring, mistake tracking, streaks, and leaderboards. Leaderboard rankings are provided for motivational purposes and may include system-generated entries.

Some content is assisted by AI: sentence translations and pronunciation (IPA) are produced by third-party language models, and some lesson audio is generated by text-to-speech. AI-assisted content may contain inaccuracies. We review official lessons but do not guarantee that every translation, transcription, or audio rendering is perfect. The Service is intended for learning and personal use.

Plans, Echoes, and Subscriptions

Pricing and plans

We offer a free tier and a paid Pro subscription. Current pricing is shown on our pricing page. Pro is billed monthly or yearly and includes a monthly allowance of in-app credits ("Echoes"), the mistakes notebook, and daily review.

Echoes

Echoes are an in-app feature used to start practice sessions. They have no cash value, are not redeemable for money, and are not sold separately. A Pro subscription includes a recurring monthly Echoes allowance.

Payments

Payments are processed by Creem, which acts as the Merchant of Record for purchases made through the Service. By subscribing, you also agree to Creem's applicable terms. Creem handles billing, invoices, taxes, and refunds on our behalf.

Auto-renewal

Paid subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period at the then-current price, until you cancel.

Cancellation

You may cancel at any time from your account settings or through the Creem customer portal. Cancellation stops future renewals; you keep Pro access until the end of the current paid period.

Refunds

You may request a refund of a subscription charge within 14 days if the Service was unusable or you were charged in error. Except as required by applicable law or as stated here, payments are non-refundable. To request a refund, email support@dictationtrainer.com.

Taxes

Displayed prices may exclude applicable taxes. Where required, taxes are calculated and collected by Creem as Merchant of Record.

Acceptable Use

You agree not to: misuse, overload, or disrupt the Service; attempt unauthorized access to systems or other users' accounts; scrape, resell, or redistribute content; reverse engineer the Service; infringe the rights of others; upload unlawful, infringing, or harmful content (including in support tickets); or use the Service for any illegal purpose.

Intellectual Property

The Service — including its lessons, audio, software, design, and branding — is owned by us or our licensors and is protected by applicable laws. We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the Service for personal, non-commercial learning. You may not copy, distribute, or create derivative works from the Service except as expressly permitted.

Third-Party Services

The Service relies on third-party providers (such as Creem, Google, and Cloudflare). Your use of those providers may be subject to their own terms. We are not responsible for third-party services or their availability.

Disclaimers

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that any content — including AI-assisted translations, transcriptions, or audio — is accurate or complete.

Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Lucky Code Studio will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of data or profits, arising from or related to your use of the Service. Our total aggregate liability for any claim will not exceed the amount you paid us for the Service in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim.

Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Lucky Code Studio and its operators from any claims, damages, or expenses arising out of your misuse of the Service or your violation of these Terms or applicable law.

Suspension and Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms, or for legal, security, or operational reasons. You may stop using the Service at any time. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination (such as intellectual property, disclaimers, and limitation of liability) will continue to apply.

Governing Law and Disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Korea, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. Disputes will be subject to the courts located in Seoul, Republic of Korea, except where mandatory consumer-protection laws of your country of residence provide otherwise.

Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will reflect material changes by updating the date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, notifying you. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.
