下の文に目を通してから、音声つきでレッスン全体を練習しましょう。
- 1Today you'll make a picture of the person sitting opposite you — yes, really.
- 2Light lines first, in chalk — chalk comes off, and ink does not.
- 3Put the head in the middle, and leave space all round it.
- 4A face is a circle — well, an egg — start round and put it right later.
- 5Now your angles: eyes on one line, ears on a parallel line under them.
- 6The nose is not a straight line — it's a soft curve, see?
- 7Move your seat — your position changes what you see, and that changes everything.
- 8Now shade — the dark side of the face says where the light is.
- 9Rub it softly with one finger till the edge goes smooth.
- 10Use comparison: is the mouth wider than the eye? Look twice, mark once.
- 11The wax colors go on last, and only a little.
- 12Stand back — the base of the neck is too thin, see it now?
- 13Canvas comes later — on paper, a bad line is free.
- 14At the end we'll make a selection, and the best six go on the wall.
